AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE To Hold Open Bassist Auditions In January
December 29, 2005AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE have released more information regarding their bassist search. As previously reported, the band are now officially looking for a bass player (NOT a guitar player) to replace Chad Hanks, as he is switching to guitar to replace the recently departed Karma Cheema.
AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE will be holding open auditions for a bassist on the following dates:
Saturday, January 7: 2:00 p.m. to midnight
Sunday, January 8: 2:00 p.m. to midnight
Monday, January 9: 2:00 p.m. to midnight
The auditions will be held at 414 North 3rd Avenue (between Washington Avenue and North 5th Street) in downtown Minneapolis, right next door to The 418 Club (a strip club). However, the entrance to the rehearsal hall is in back, DIRECTLY BEHIND the strip club. Please use www.mapquest.com for door-to-door directions. There will be garage-sale type signs in the immediate area to help you find the rear entrance. Keep an eye out.
Commented Hanks: "This is a first come-first serve basis, i.e. if you're the first one there, you're the first one up. There will be a bass rig for you to play through. Bring your own bass (you must have a five-string/the ability to play in A#),and any pedals you might use. I suggest a floor tuner, noise suppressor, and 2 distortion pedals. Tunings from low to high are as follows: A#, D#, G#, C#, F#, B.
"You will be given a MAXIMUM of 20 minutes, although it could be shorter. You will be videotaped. You must be at least 18 years old. You will be asked to play 'Seamless' from 'The War of Art', and 'Loyalty' from 'The Feeding'. Please learn ONE other song of your choice, EXCLUDING: 'Ridicule', 'Leave Me Alone', 'Walk Away', 'Fiend', 'Self', 'Shutdown', 'We Believe', 'Breathe In Bleed Out', and 'Reach and Touch'.
"To wrap this up, please come prepared, warmed up, tuned up, and on point. Approximately 65 other bass players are receiving this email, in addition to whomever shows up from word-of-mouth, so we have a lot of people to work through. Please help us make this run as smoothly as possible. In addition, we aren't above bribery, so feel free to bring presents. Thank you all for your participation.
"And finally, when all is said and done, don't call us...we'll call you."
